Around Torrevieja
One of
Spain's most important sea side locations,
Torrevieja boasts a stunning beach and promenade. The traditional
harbour and beautiful fishermen's cottages are also features not to be
missed.
Torrevieja is steeped in history with a newly built
Museum of Culture two minutes away from the apartment.
The beach at Torrevieja has been designated 'safe' and
regularly has life guards on duty. Swimming is a pleasure whether it is
from the sandy sections of the beach or amongst the rock pools and
coves which are plentiful along this coastline. Lounging in the rock
pools is an idyllic experience- natural jacuzzis!
Nightlife is excellent. There are bars and clubs for
younger visitors and many
seafront restaurants and cafe bars for families, couples and senior
visitors. The area is very flat and, therefore, ideal for anyone with
mobility problems.
Children will love spending long days on the beach,
visiting the nearby water parks and making the most of the funfair in
the evenings. Children are made extremely welcome in Spain and
Torrevieja is no exception.
Shopping in Torrevieja is an experience not to be
missed! Markets offer exceptional bargains and high class boutiques
offer items you will not find in the UK. Traditional food shops offer
sampling opportunities. Red wine and salami is a particular
favourite-all for free!
If you feel like a change of scene at some point during
your holiday, the town's bus station provides buses which will take you
to Guardarmar, Alicante, Murcia and even Barcelona and Madrid! Taxis
are also available to take you on shorter journeys, although most of
Torrevieja's attractions can be reached on foot.
